I recently discovered an old journal from the early 1990’s. I had not yet qualified for the LPGA tour. Though, I had recently embarked on my professional golf career and was coping with the challenges of surviving on the mini tours. I had begun my first serious golf instruction and knew that it would take some time to pay off.
My thoughts as entered and highlighted:
- I will hit good putts and they will drop
- Never say die
- Never lose sight of the big picture
- Never forget what you set out to achieve
- Keep your eye on the goal
- Don’t worry about anything that is beyond your control!
- You are where you want to be so enjoy every moment
- Fairway then green is the process
- The golf course asks enough questions, Don’t ask any more of yourself
- I want to win but for now let me be brave in the attempt
- I will be patient
- I will be nice to myself by: Enjoying my good shots, Forgiving the bad
- My goal is to get a little better every day!
- 1 great shot will multiply
- I am prepared so let go!
- Make a clear decision
- I trust my ability
- I trust my preparation
- I will have no expectations!
- Forgive Yourself
- Stay in the present
- I choose to be a competitor
- I will stick to my game plan
- Be grateful
- During tough times rest if you must but do not quit
- Success is failure turned inside out
- You never know how close you are to success
- Always expect a miracle
- You are natural so just do it!
- Enjoy the adventure!
- Let the past slip away
- Your plan is working
- One step at a time
- Today is better than yesterday
- Never forget where you came from
- Every day I will learn my lessons!
- Smiling makes me feel good
- Eyes up!
- I will be organized in all aspects of my life
- Good balance & good posture = good shot
- Imagine the good! Feel the thrill!
- I will totally consider all possibilities before making a decision
- I will know I have shot the best score possible by being 100% committed to every shot
- If you put good things in your body, you will get your best performance
